The admission procedure to the B-schools for MBA  program occurred twice in a year i.e. Fall (August- September) & Spring (December- January). So the question “how long does it take to get GMAT scores?” becomes very important for MBA aspirants so that you can decide when to take test to the test in order to make your score available to the desired school before application deadlines.

Here, in this article, we will guide you on such questions and help you sort out queries related to it.

GMAT score card:

The GMAT score card consists of 5 parts: verbal, quantitative, total score, integrated reasoning, and analytical writing.

The score-card will be available to you in 2 forms: unofficial score report and official score report.

Unofficial score reporting:

The GMAT unofficial score will be available to you as soon as you finish the test. The computer screen will show your unofficial verbal, unofficial quantitative, and unofficial integrated reasoning scores, as well as your unofficial total score.

GMAT Score Reporting

As seen in this sample, the card consists of scales score for four sections including total score which is scored according to your quantitative and verbal scores. Your analytical writing section is not included in it as it is examined by human assayer.

After viewing your unofficial score, you will be given the option to cancel your score, if you are not satisfied with your performance. If you cancel the score, it won’t be sent to the target school you chose on your GMAT registration. Only you will know if you cancel your scores.

Only 2 minutes will be given to cancel your score right after the exam at the test center for free, or within 72 hours of taking the exam (for $25).

Official score reporting:

Your Official Score Report will be available to you within 20 calendar days of your GMAT exam. Once your scores are available, an email will be sent with a unique link to view your score by Pearson VUE. You may view, download, or print your Official Score Report, by visiting:www.mba.com/mygmat.

GMAT Score Reporting

This report includes your final, official scores and percentile ranking for the verbal, quantitative and integrated reasoning sections and also, this is the first time you will be seeing your analytical writing score.

When will the target school receive GMAT scores?

The schools you select at the test center will receive your official score report within 20 calendar days of your exam (the same as you). So its very important to consider application deadlines while planning the date to appear for the exam since it takes about three weeks to send your scores.

Apart from the 5 target school you selected, you can also send your score report to additional school with the fee of a $28 per school but only after you receive your official scores.

Your GMAT score is valid for five years. If you cancel your scores at the test center but wish to reinstate them at a later date, a $50 fee applies. After its reinstated, your official score report will be sent to the school you selected at the test center for no additional fees.

Hope this help from our side will guide you in a meaningful way.
